Overview:

This tool takes the reader through, like the title suggests, the basics of the Christian faith and walk. It is split up into twenty different lessons. The topics of these lessons cover things from the security and forgiveness we have as believers, spiritual disciplines, church and baptism, living like Christ, and evangelism. There is also a study in John that is included.

Pros:

I like the simplicity of the study. If you are going through it with a new believer, it is basic enough to where it would not be overwhelming. The straightforwardness of the lessons would also make it a good tool for student to student discipleship. I appreciated that there is a lot of different scripture throughout each lesson that it has the reader go through. Also, one thing that I really liked was that the study encourages verse memorization. In addition to one of the lessons going in depth about memorization, most of the lessons end with a suggested memory verse having to do with the subject of that lesson. Lastly, a big pro is that the whole study is free to download and print.

Cons:

The fact that it is free to download, and print is great, but it is lengthy. With the study in John the whole packet is 95 pages. Without the John study it is 70 pages. It could be difficult for students to be able to print out the tool. Also, the simplicity of the study is nice but depending on the reader it could be too simple. Some of the lessons are quite short and might not be very engaging on their own. If that is the case, then multiple lessons could be done in one sitting.
